PaMOOla

Well as you all know our trip started out a bit sucky. We left later than planned and about an hour from the house on the Jersey Turnpike a huge piece of ice flew off the car in front of us and smacked into our windshield. There was actually a small hole and the most of the windshield was smashed. Mark and I both had little shards of glass on us. The kids had no idea what happened – they were watching a movie. When they realized we stopped they both asked if we were in Florida</ST1 LOL! Then the cop came and wouldn’t let us drive the car to the glass place so it had to be towed and we had to move all the carseats to the cop car. I rode with the kids and the cop (he was cute) to the glass place and Mark went with the scary tow truck dude. To make a long story short we had to have the windshield replaced and had to go back home and then get the car and we didn’t actually leave for Florida until 5 that evening.

To make a long story short we had to have the windshield replaced and had to go back home and then get the car and we didn’t actually leave for <st1:State w:st=" /><st1:State w:st="on"><ST1 Florida</st1:State> itself was good. The weather was great! The first day a little cool - in the 60’s but after being in 10 degree weather 60 was heaven. Then it was in the high 70’s-80 the rest of the week. We went to the zoo and to Butterfly World which was fun. One morning I went with my mom and aunt to get my hair cut and highlighted which I desperately needed. It wasn’t an exciting vacation but it was nice to get away. Of course I still didn’t get much sleep because every night Ash still came into our bed or Sammy was waking up early because she was sleeping the same room as us. But my mom and my aunt were great helps and tried to really do a lot with the kids to give me a break. Ash and my aunt have a love affair going on and Ash is the only one who can boss my aunt around. It is quite amusing. My cousin flew in from <st1:City w:st="on">Denver</st1:City> and surprised my mom and aunt so it was great to see him walk him and they were freaking out that he was there. They are so clueless because he called me from the airport to tell me he landed and I even told my mom I was talking to him and she was like wow he must be having a slow day at work to be calling in the middle of the day.

We were sad to leave the nice weather and I wanted to cry saying good-bye to my mom. They will be back in NY in May so it isn’t terribly long but I miss having her around.
On our drive up we kept hearing about a snow storm that was going to hit the east coast. But they kept changing the dang forecast. Well on Sunday morning we were driving right into it. So it took us about 4 hours longer to get home yesterday. We drove right into the storm. Poor Mark, he wouldn’t let me drive but I knew he was tense. Later he said he felt so nervous just thinking that we were all in the car and what if something happened. But he took it slow and drove very carefully. As much as I hate the cold weather I am happy to be home in our house. I still don’t feel like I had a vacation though. I did stay away from the computer which felt nice.
The good thing was that my MIL came and did my laundry and cleaned my house! She has been feeling bad about spending most of her time with my SIL and her babies that I think she wanted to do a little something for us. It was sweet of her.
