Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP?

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise?

How did you tell DH/SO and other children?

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP?

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy?

How did you feel for the first trimester?

Any specific cravings that you remember?

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10?

What were your pospartum weeks like?

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? I was 10 DPO I think.

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? Planned, it was out first try. Knew I was ovulating and got it right

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? I made a onesie with fabric paints to tell DH.

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? More frequent urinating was always one of my first symptoms before getting a BFP.

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? Secretly and selfishly hoping for a girl. Wanted a boy for DH's sake. Really though, I was so torn it didn't matter.

How did you feel for the first trimester? Great, I never had the unpleasant experience of MS.

Any specific cravings that you remember? Just food, lots of food LOL.

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? It was a 9 Would've made 10 if my epidural would've worked Everything was almost perfect.

What were your pospartum weeks like? WONDERFUL!!! Only one night of baby blues, a baby that slept like an angel compared to my first, BFing was easy, no PP pain whatsoever, didn't even feel like I just gave birth and I lost weight really fast.

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? i never took a HPT with sammie ... was at the doc for another problem and asked for a pregnancy test ... i lied and said i was late for my cycle so they'd do it! but i wasnt late, i was about 3-4 days before my cycle was due ... their urine test came back negative so they told me no i was not preggo, but they had done a blood test too and called me that evening to tell me the blood test was positive!

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? totally planned, redeployment baby! dennis had been deployed for 8 months before sammie was conceived

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? since it was such a shock to find out the test was indeed positive, i just blurted it out to him when he got home! no other kids to tell ...

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? i dont think so, not that i remember

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? a boy (i was scared to have a girl LOL)

How did you feel for the first trimester? I was exhausted! I would nap every day after work and go to bed really early too ... no nausea though ... VERY sore boobs!!!

Any specific cravings that you remember? toward the end I craved gatorade, milk, peas with melted butter

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? I'd say an 8 ... after my epidural it was great but it lasted a long time ... I labored at home for about 13-14 hours in early labor and then was at the hospital in labor for 15 hours ...

What were your pospartum weeks like? I had a great postpartum! healed quickly, sammie was an easy baby, had a lot of help the first few weeks with family coming and dennis was off work for 3 weeks ...

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP?
Nov 16th!

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise?
Planned!

How did you tell DH/SO and other children?
Showed DH and the kids my positive test!

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP?
Very bloated and bigger (.)(.)!

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy?
Well, after already having FOUR boys I bet that I don't need to even say what I was hoping for!

How did you feel for the first trimester?
Like crap.

Any specific cravings that you remember?
I could not get enough fresh fruits and chicken. I would crave watermelon, honey dew, cantaloupe, strawberries 24/7!
So different then my previous pregnancies when I only wanted junk food!

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10?
It would have been a 10 if the damn epidural would have worked. I ended having Brianna with NO pain relief and LOTS of pain curdling screaming!

What were your pospartum weeks like?
My PP weeks were wonderful sharing one on one with my beautiful new princess, Brianna!!! I was so in awe on FINALLY having a baby girl!
But having my father pass away just 5 weeks prior to her birth and then three hurricanes right in a row made my PP on a whole pretty darn stressing and sad.

When did you get your first BFP? November 14 (anniversary)

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? First month of kind of trying, but no hurry! That's all it took.

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? Anniversary gift that he opened that was actually a Big Sis shirt for Caroline. I kept it a secret all day long.

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? Only slight cramping and high temps

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? Personally another girl, but now I am so thankful it was a sweet boy. It's great to have one of each.

How did you feel for the first trimester? Tired

Any specific cravings that you remember? Can't remember, I'd have to look in the baby book

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? planned C-sec, no labor at all, good recovery, so a 10 for a c-section

What were your pospartum weeks like? First 3-4 were great, then all hell broke loose with Mr. Colic !!!!! That lasted until 13 weeks. It was HELL!!!!

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? I don't know the date - probably around 10dpo

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? planned - I knew I was ovulating on my bday and it took one try.

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? He was there when I took the test. For Josh we waited until I was around 12 weeks to tell him.

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? Nope

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? A girl

How did you feel for the first trimester? good, just tired

Any specific cravings that you remember? salad - lot's of salad with vinegar dressing.

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? a 9.5. I wish I had the spinal a little earlier but in total I was in labor for 1.5 hours and pushed only a few times.

What were your pospartum weeks like? It was great. Ashley was an easy baby and she also took to breastfeeding very well. I did have some problems breastfeeding but I was so happy to have a baby latch on that it didn't stop me.

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? NOv 2....AF was 5 days late...after a miscarriage and 4 months of bfn I just didn't want to risk another bfn...i wanted to be sure!!

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise?very very planned

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? Dh was walking out the door to work when I came home from work and I toldhim I was going to test...he said he had to leave and since he didn't think I was pregnant he left. I called him 3 min later on the cell phone..he was schocked!!

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP?slight nausea when I was hungry

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? A girl...but I wouldn't change Ewan for the world.

How did you feel for the first trimester? ok...tired and a bit nauseas

Any specific cravings that you remember? steak, steak and more steak...and rare..it's funny cuz Ewan wont touch meat with a ten foot poll...lol.

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10?5 it wasn't horrible but it wasn't the birth I wanted...I ended up having drugs and an epi which I didn't want. It was long long long and I was exhausted. I had a catheter which I hated!! There was meconium staining, his heart rate dropped after birth...but at least he was healthy...and pushing was only 45 min.

What were your pospartum weeks like? great no post partum blues with Ewan at all, despite the horrible stuggle with breastfeeding...but I was able to conquer that and I was on cloud nine...though tired and my tailbone was sore.

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? No idea. How do you ladies remember this.

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? Planned, but yet a surprise. We had miscarried not long before Sarah and we were supposed to wait the three months, but we decided to go for it and we had sex ONE time and well, now we have Sarah.

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? I was so shocked that as soon as he got home from work, I went up to him smiling, with the test behind my back, and gave him a big ol' hug. He said he could tell from my face that something was up. I showed him the test and we both cried happy tears.

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? Puking - and I puked the entire 38.5 weeks

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? I was hoping girl since we knew that this was going to be our last. I'm so glad God blessed us with one of each.

How did you feel for the first trimester? I was sick, sick, sick. I remember having to carry bags with me in the morning so that I could pull over quickly and throw up on the work to work. I also told my first and second period kids and kept the trashcan close to my desk. I only threw up once at school and it happened to be on my conference period.

Any specific cravings that you remember? At the end - red popsicles. It has to be red. I also craved tacos.

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? 10 - My c/s was wonderful. The deadening worked, unlike when I had Darren, and so I didn't feel a thing. I was able to be awake the whole time. It was weird to feel them moving around my insides, and then that beautiful sound of her cry Wow - I'll never forget that!

What were your pospartum weeks like? Wonderful. No problems. With Darren my PPD hit at 3 months, but with Sarah I was about at 12 months postpartum and then I bottomed out.

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? About 10 DPO. DH was in California and told me I was pregnant...I didn't believe him.

Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? Planned, we had 1 week to get it right. He was in California for 3 months.

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? I told him over the phone and Jake was too young to really understand

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? Just irritable and tired

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? We knew it was a girl and that is what we wanted.

How did you feel for the first trimester? Just tired but great

Any specific cravings that you remember? Fruit, no meat, and sweets

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? 10, hearing her cry made it a 10

What were your pospartum weeks like? We were moving when she was about 3 weeks old so I really didn't get any down time.

How did you feel for the first trimester? Like HELL

Any specific cravings that you remember? Not during my first trimester, I hated any food during that time, later on though I craved Decafe Carmel Machiatos from Star Bucks

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? 10 IT WAS AWSOME!!!!!! 2 hours from 1cm to a 10 cm and only 3 PAINFUL cntx the rest was just pressure and the great part was when I was 10cm I didn't have to do any of the work LOL the dr.s did it all for me for once (although I do wish I could have had them natural)

What were your pospartum weeks like? UGH they SUCKED having newborn twins one in NICU, having c-sect pain and NO HELP SUCKED! Having new born twins didn't suck but the pain and having one in NICU, NO sleep and no help sucked.

Re: Looking back on memory lane for us July/2004 gals!

When did you get your first BFP? Halloween
Was it a planned pregnancy or a total surprise? Not sure, sort of half... we knew I could get pregnant when we did it, but I later regretted it and took the MAP

How did you tell DH/SO and other children? I took a digital test and showed him

Did you have any symptoms prior to getting your BFP? Not really

After you found out that you were preggers, were you hoping for a girl or a boy? We were hoping for a boy, esp for DH's sake

How did you feel for the first trimester? Alright, but I got the flu

Any specific cravings that you remember? Hardees Angus Burgers

What was your labor and birth experience like on a scale of 1-10? 5, Malia's was the greatest and Keala's was the worst... most pain I felt with Ahren was the last 2 minutes when he came out

What were your pospartum weeks like? Stressed as my baby was in the NICU
