School
Can't wait for school to be in session......WOOOHOOO
I am hoping that Hanna has a better year this year. Hanna is over weight and the kids like to pick on her. I keep telling her that if she kicks their butts just once they won't be laughing at her. I know violance is not good but still. I hate so much for her because kids are so mean.

Re: School
billy started back yesterday. he has 2 girls in his class close in size to him so i don't think he gets picked on just yet.
his biggest problem is he isn't active...but we are so protective i don't like him going out alone and with the 3 boys it is hard for me to get them all out. how do you get active time in>? |

Re: School
We live in the country so they both go out alone..... more Hanna then Ayden. I have to make Hanna get up and get going. I am always telling her to ride her bike. Take her dog for a walk. She is not all that active either.

Re: School
Both boys take swim lessons, hockey, skate lessons, soccer in the summer. We stress the importance of life-long activity. I could care less if they are the "star" the most important thing is to find something they love and have fun doing so they can continue doing it for the rest of their lives and become life long athletes.
If we don't have a scheduled exercise time for the day, I will often take them out and play tag or chase. In the winter we go sledding (and I make the boys carry their sleds back up the hill). We lap swim when they are taking lessons, I get on the ice with them during skate lessons, I often walk around the soccer/baseball field when they have practice. That way I can watch them and get a workout at the same time. I have a great double jogging stroller. So every other day Miles and Samantha are in that and Will rides his bike. We usually go to a park. We try to explore different ones, but it is usually 2 miles there and 2 miles back. I have to run to keep up with Will on his bike. Everyone gets exercise. Will walks to and from school everyday with the group of neighborhood kids. And most important my DH and I are very active so we try to be great role models for them. Eventhough my Mother was disabled, before she came down with MS she was extremely active and my Dad was always active. He compete in racquetball tournaments since his 20's and he still does and he is almost 60. In our family it is just part of our day...no excuses. My DH is competing in a duathlon on Saturday so we will all watch him. And the boys always say they want to do that when they are bigger. |
