Halloween Costumes? - Yada, Yada, Yada

What is everyone going to be for Halloween? It's definitely not one of my favorite holidays, but they celebrate it at school, so I want Caleb to have a costume too. I'm sure I'll dress Nathaniel if he lets me and we'll go out to just relatives and neighbors houses that night. I've come up with the perfect costume for Caleb but I still need to find one. I want to dress him like the Crocodile Hunter. He loves Animal Planet and is interested in snakes (I liked his train obsession much better). I can find the outfits with shorts and short sleeves, but it will probably be too cold for shorts and short sleeves. I'll have to find him a long sleeved khaki button down shirt and pants but want an Animal Planet logo or Crocodile Hunter logo of some kind on it. Maybe I can do an iron on patch or something. I'm going to get him a safari hat, let him wear a toy snake around his neck, and I found some crocodile bags to carry for his candy. I don't know yet what Nathaniel will be. Maybe a football player. Or maybe he can be a crocodile. At first I wanted them to be a knight and a dragon. Then I wanted them to be Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat, but figured it would be too hard to find. They do like that show though.

Every year I say I'm going to plan for Halloween earlier and every year, I wait until the last minute. I still have no idea what we're going to do, what anyone's going to be, etc. Well, Miranda got a Daphne (from Scooby Doo) costume apparently. She talked her grandma into ordering it from target.com I guess. Not that she's young enough to trick or treat anymore.
I just saw that the new Ikea here is having a trick or treat night from 5-8 so we may go there. Safer and easier!

Amie, that sounds like an awesome costume for Caleb! What a great tribute!

Amaya decided to be Cinderella in August, so I scooped up a costume at Target as soon as we saw it then. Talk about early shopping! And she already had a Cinderella tiara from her dress up set. I may need to get her shoes though, dress up shoes are quite unstable to trick or treat with. And to continue or tradition of theming the girls togther, Lily will be Snow White

I already had that from the dress up box, so all I need for her is a red ribbon, she already has the black hair

On Halloween, the kids will look like they do in my siggy. The are going to be a college cheerleader and college football player.

OMG Kim that Yoda is adorable!! I would love to do "themed" costumes but my girls are so different and definitely know what they want to be. Hanna is going to be Ariel (ugh I am so sick of princesses) and Maddy is going to be Dora. Maddy hardly talks, but if anyone asks her what she's going to be for Halloween she says, "I be Dowa Hallowee"...I hope she'll wear the wig.

He actually looks so dang cute! He doesn't even watch the show, but some of his friends are into it, so of course it's "cool".

Sara's going to be a pink unicorn. We have the costume already--I got it for $5 on clearance last year!

It's kind of like a stuffed horse with suspenders...hard to describe. I'll post a pic....

I let Collin pick out his costume this year. He is going to be Wolverine from X-Men -- not that he's ever seen the cartoon. Guess he just liked the costume. Complete with muscles and claws. I would have liked to do a theme, but nothing goes with that! I thought about having Collin be Batman and Braeden Robin, but Collin was Batman last year. Braeden is going to be a puppy. That is if I can get him to wear his costume. He screams when I try to put it on. It has built in feet, which I think is what he doesn't like. So I am going to try to take the feet out and hope that helps!

Emily is going to be Ariel & we already have the costume, including the wig, b/c we bought it when we were at Disney World in May.

Sara wants to be Elmo & I have a friend who is letting us borrow her costume.

And Charlie is so tiny he's just wearing an orange pumpkin sleeper & pumpkin knit beanie.

Jack is going to be spiderman. He would like to be Southpark Kenny he's watch just a few tamer episodes. He will put on a sweatshirt and pull the string all tight and mumble. He said if it was orange i could be kenny for halloween.

awe that is what my kids are doing this year , star wars theme.. my son is yoda as well this year.. i ordered there costumes off the internet .. my daughter is princess laya , she is soo excited.. i need to get busy and get them in there costumes and take a picture.. LOL
