Lesson plans.
Do you/did you create a lesson plan for your day? And if so, would you mind sharing it?
I created one and its a very detailed thing....I think I may be doing too much. |

Re: Lesson plans.
Well so far my lesson plan is a lot of preschool type learning (ABC's, Counting, etc). We sit down and go over his lessons for about 20 mins at a time. I ususally do it about 3 times a day.
I use the combination of the Starfall.com site and then I bought some activity colouring books that we go over. What does your plan look like?

Re: Lesson plans.
Well its like
Monday: Math, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, Geography Tuesday: Math, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, Science Wednesday: Math, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, History Thursday: Math, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, Politics Friday: Math, Reading Comprehension, Spelling test, elective of her choice. She needs extra help with math and reading comprehension which is why we do it everyday. And the reading comprehension is "read this story then answer these questions" type thing. We always do spelling, but with the spelling I also include the meaning of each word that she has to know. We also practice our punctuation. She had no clue what a hyphen was, what parenthesis were, what semi colons were, etc. and why they were used. On the days we do History I teach her about things like slavery, different religious struggles, etc. Geography is her picking a place and we learn about it. Politics is basically just whats going on in todays world, our president, our past presidents, etc. An elective is she can either help me bake something for lunch or breakfast or she can learn the piano or do an art project....stuff like that. We also do 20 minutes of independent reading a day and on Friday she has to give me a summary of what the book was about. I require her to take notes on what I have said and we practice our cursive and regular hand writing. She had no idea what the military was, who our president was, that there was a war going on, what a state trooper was...these are very basic things and she had no clue as to what anything was or what purpose they served. We take breaks in between each subject so she can regroup and stuff, I just dont want to overload her, kwim? |
