My first gripe.
Let me preface this by saying I LAH-HOVE Lexi's home schooling program. Love it.

So we log on this morning and for attendance it says "alarming". Im confused because we do at least 5-7 hours a day. She takes all the tests and submits everything she supposed to, so I wasnt sure why it was becoming alarming. Then I thought maybe I had forgotten to log her attendance, but I checked and I did log it.
So I click on "alarming" and it says that the teacher hasnt had any contact with Lexi and thats why its alarming. So now Im annoyed.
Hes supposed to call every other week on Wednesday to check up on her progress. Well him and I have been emailing back and forth and he hasnt called so I assumed it was because we had been emailing. So last week he sends me an email and says he tried to call but he got a fax machine. I checked the caller ID and no call. So I emailed him back and apologized and asked him if he had called the right number, then I included our number in the email (even though I know he had the right number since he called when we first started) and told him that we would be home all day that day and the next. So he emailed me back and asked when would be a good time to call again. I sent him an email back and said any time that day would be fine or if he would like, he could call the next day and that we usually take a mid-morning break around 11am and then we break for lunch between 1-2pm and he could call then. OR, if that didnt fit his schedule, to let me know when it would be a good time for him to call and I would make sure we would be taking a break at that time. He didnt send an email back.

So I had Lexi call him this morning and of course we got his voice mail. She left a message. I sent him an email. Nothing. We got nothing back.
How is this mine or my childs fault that he hasnt called and why is it reflecting as alarming???
Im just annoyed now.

Sounds like to me that he needs to get off his freakin ass and call you instead of making up stories about calling some fax machine. Maybe you should ask him if he has time to put down the beer bottle and dial the number in your email. (heh sorry, you gotta giggle a little bit or this stuff will drive ya nutso)

By him being a dumbass he could get you into some serious trouble. Have you tried calling his supervisor or someone that is above him to find out what you need to do about this? I think that would be my next step cause you don't want to mess around with them sending CPS out or something because he's not doing his job. *HUG* Let me know how it goes Sweety.

He actually wound up calling yesterday while I was out at CSE. He spoke to Lexi and asked her a bunch of math questions, all of which she got wrong. I couldve killed her.....she JUST did the math problems before he called.
Then, I wanted to kill him for asking her. She gets nervous and now they both probably think Im looney.

Oh you will be fine. A lot of kids don't do well on pop quizzes. I know I never did. You mention the word, "quiz" or "test" and my mind goes completely blank. I can't even remember my name much less the answers to the questions on the test. *LOL*

Thats like Lexi. If you say quiz or test, she forgets everything you just asked her. And like, these are things I told him. If she feels pressured, she just freezes up.
I gave her some "workbooks" to complete yesterday.
One was the SRI test which measures a child reading level. The highest is 1200. Lexi got a 1010.
Also, she took the LEAP Math test. Because I gave it to her in workbook form, she got an 84% on it. There were 38 questions and she only missed 6 so IMO she did great.
But had I said "Oh Im giving you this test" she would have bombed big time.
Anyways, he also decided he was going to reset some of her quizzes that she didnt do so great on because he saw her test results and he knows she can do better. Im glad because these quizzes she didnt do so great on.

That's great that he's willing to work with you on her scores and tests like that. I would hate to see her get penalized because she stresses out about the concept of tests. I can so sympathize with her.

I guess he works for the school.
Its a large private school up in MD but they have homeschooling programs all over the country and they have a branch in FL. I dont know if he sits at a desk at home or if he goes into an office and sits.
