Crumbs! How do I post the actual pic instead of the link? I thought I had it...will have to try again later...someone's got a diaper issue that needs to be addressed!

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
Here's my unprofessional and very green cc for ya
,#1 Great use of the Rule of Thirds. It's a little dark so maybe increase the ISO to let a little more light in. #2 It's great, what a cutie! I think it would be even better if you had taken the pic vertically rather than horizontally with this too, I just learned this tip and it really does make a world of difference. You get more of the subject in the pic that way. #3 There really isn't much blur and the color is great. Love it! What camera are using BTW? Overall I think they look really good.

To actually get the pic to pop up just use the [img] code!

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
Thanks for the cc Melissa and for the info on how to post the actual pics--I was just copying and pasting, so now I'll do it the other way.
I have a Canon Rebel XTi and I was using my 50/1.8 lens on the first two and my kit lens on the last. I agree that the first one is kinda dark--maybe that'll be my first editing project! I didn't even think about taking that 2nd pic vertically--good tip. Frankly, I was just glad that one of my girls would sit still long enough for a half way clear shot!

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
I hear you on getting the kids to sit still! I have an 18 month old crazy little man and it's rare that I ever get him to look at me when I'm shooting. I love shooting without a flash but he moves non-stop it's nearly impossible to get a clear pic.

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
Aww geez Tracey, I seriously doubt I'll be raising any bar! I mean seriously, I'm just starting out!! But it sure was nice of you to say!
![]() Since everyone agreed (myself included) that the pics were a bit dark, I decided to *try* to 'fix' that issue. Notice all the *'s and "'s? That's because this will be my first ever 'official' pp edit! Honestly, I just got my PS and don't know a thing about it, hopefully I didn't mess them up too bad. ![]() Here they are: Before: ![]() After: ![]() And... Before: ![]() After: ![]() Did I over do it on her eyes? I just did an unsharp mask and dodged them a bit...totally winging it there, I'm so in over my head! Haha! CC/help totally appreciated!! TIA!! (about to click submit...hope the pics show up this time! ![]() Sandye (who needs a siggy!) |

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
the color in #1 looks off, too red maybe?
color of #2 looks good. the eyes look ok...bordering on overdone for me, but not quite there. good edits so far!

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
Yeah, now that I look at it, #1 is a bit orangey/red. I upped the sat the tiniest bit--maybe shouldn't have touched it. That was a weird shot anyway, the sun was coming in from behind him...just liked the pic too much to not post it--kwim?
LOL, I definitely don't want to give her alien eyes! Glad it's not too over the top... How on earth does one learn PS without spending 24/7 reading the manual and help keys? Do you know of any good tut links/sites? I have a feeling I'll be spending way too much time learning PS for my own good.

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
Tracey,
Thank you so much!:happy0065: I'm using 5.0--just got it for Christmas--and thing is, I've never done a lot of editing, I've been using a film camera for the past few years. The very worst part...I'm completely computer illiterate to boot! Sandye |

Re: Just a few pics--CC welcome!!!
Great pics! I love the edit on the second one, her eyes just pop right out! and I think that pic #1 looks great in the first place, without the edit. With the PP it is a bit reddish, as Tracey said.
As for the 3rd, I love the feel of the pic. It gives me the feeling of creeping down the stairs and seeing the tree with all the presents Santa brought - you definitley captured the magic of it. I think the main part of that is the lighting. It's a bit too dark on the far right side, but the rest looks perfect. I love how the lighting brings out the colour of the wood in your entertainment cabinet too. I can see the blur a bit but only after I clicked to get the bigger view And the blur really is small for the lighting/ss. If I took a pic that slow I would need a tripod for sure!
