    new camera+zoo=picture overload

We finally got a passable day to get out, so we headed for the zoo so I could play with my new camera and lens (Tamron 70-300)! I'm still figuring a lot out, but I am so excited to be able to get close to the animals (they don't appear so in the pictures, but are a long way off). It doesn't hurt to catch my kids from afar when they don't know I'm taking pictures, either. These are big improvements over all of my previous zoo pictures. I can't wait to find time to study my manual so I can learn more.....thanks for letting me share.

Those look great! The animals all look so close! And of course your kids are all adorable. Now i want to go to the zoo (and of course I've been wanting a 70-300 mm for ages but can't afford one yet )

One quick hint: if you invest in a polarizing filter you would be able to shoot through glass without the reflection

Thanks for the tip, Janice. Tracey, I was just sharing, but I am always up for cc as well. I'm still figuring out how to change all my settings since this camera is a lot different than my film slr. I also had three impatient ones tugging at my elbows every time I stopped, so didn't have much time to think about things........sigh.......but we did have a great time.
