Check out the bokeh I got on these shot! I am so happy! WOOT! These are some of the Spanish Lavendar I have in my backyard. They smell amazing this time of year. Ceili hates them because the bees love them, but they are some of my favorites.

Wow, so gorgeous Jenny! I love the colors.

And the last one... really nice to look at after all that color in the others. It's relaxing, if that makes sense. Ah, maybe I'm just in need of some sleep!

Tracey, it's a bushy, low to the ground plant that is a pretty fast grower and has flowers from April through September. It gets about thee feet high and three feet around.

That spanish lavendar is really gorgeous. Does it smell good? It looks like it should!

This has been bugging me because I'm a garden nerd. Forgive me for going way off topic! That columbine picture doesn't look anything like what I've always called columbine, which comes in many different colors but always has an inner flower that has cup-shaped petals and outer star petals. Here's one from my garden:


I wonder if it's a regional difference to call two different plants by the same name, or if it's a variation of the same plant. Would you mind indulging my nerdiness by taking a picture of the whole plant and the leaves for me? I'd love to figure it out!

Lisa, I may be mistaken. I don't have a plant book, but when I bought it at our garden center last year, the little tag in the plant said columbine. It could have totally been wrong though since I know for a fact that sometimes the kids putting the stakes out in the plants have put the wrong ones in before. DOH! I will take a pic of the whole plant for you though in the next few days.

Lol, Sandye! This is my third house, and I lived in the first two five years each, a year and a half so far here. I come in to a place with nothing, and just when I start getting it looking good it's time to move. This time, though, we are planning to STAY a long time! I will take lots of pictures for you in a week or two, but I am just getting ready to do masses of annual plantings this week to fill in between the perennials I put in last year. There was nothing but weedy, crabgrassy grass when we moved in, so it's come a long way. I LOVE this time of year. I'm addicted to the garden store.
