Red face I'm a bad girl
I've had a hankering for something sweet all day long--which, as a diabetic, is something I rarely give in to....but my willpower gave out. I had this big huge navel orange about ready to peel (which is not exactly on the 'good list' but it wouldn't send my sugars too high) when I decide to search the fridge just in case DH has something in there that sounds better (he's a sugar freak). Bam. There it was. Staring me straight in the eye. Last week I made cupcakes for a friend. I was so good--I didn't have one and didn't even like the frosting spoon. But today, alas, is a different story. That creamy milk chocolate frosting was calling out to me. All I can say in my defense is at least I put the tablespoon down and picked up a teaspoon. One measly teaspoon fully of chocolately goodness and I feel so guilty. So I lost the battle, but went down with dignity. Bad girl.

I'll check my blood glucose in 30 minutes. I'll get the shakes, but I'll be fine. If it's too high, I can bring it down with insulin. I never give in like that. I'm so good about fruits and carbs--I never eat sweets unless it's a special occasion (birthday cake, pumpkin pie, and then it's just a teeny sliver). Oh well. What's done is done. I'm going to throw away that stupid can so it can't call out my name anymore!

Karen although i am not a huge sweet junkie i would die if i was diabetic, OMG no pasta, no potatoes!!

I thought OJ was one of the worse things? I know the dr told Mark when his BS was low that that was the best thing to bring it up the fastest?

I know it's hard and I think every once in awhile is ok. I'm sorry you have to live with it! Big hugs!!!!

OJ is a bad one--but eating the whole orange isn't as bad because you get fiber with it. That said, most fruits are a no no for me unless I have protein and fiber with it. I tested my sugar at it was 195. oops. That's ugly. Good thing DH wasn't home to nag me. It's just between my meter, you guys and myself!

Yes, shakes the clown (which is what DH calls me when my sugar is high/low) is back in check. That was stupid. It not like it was even worth it. It was just frosting for goodness sake. Lean chicken breast and green beans for dinner so my bs is back in range. Thanks for checking on me ladies.
