thats awesome, and a really cute story =) I love how you love his english speaking with spanish accent .. hehe.
well I dont know who here knows this but my dh was born and raised in mexico and speaks no english but understands alot of english.
we have been a spanish speaking family for about a year and a half
I usally speak to my daughter in english when dh is not around in the daytime
but at night when dh is not working we only speak in spanish.
well for the last month dh stopped looking me in the eyes when I speak
which made me feel like he wasent interested in me anymore.
I just felt unloved and unimportant in his life.
this caused many arguements that I started of course with me claiming that we werent communicating the way that we did before and I was almost positive that we were not going to be able to make it together if this continued.
I always told him that it would help if he would just look me in the eyes to help me feel that he was listening and understood what I was talking to him about.
he always replied that he did not need to look at my face to hear me and that was what he had ears for.
he completely missed the point that i was trying to make
LOL isnt it strange how men think![]()
a few times in the last year he has asked me to speak more or all english because he will learn how to speak english better this way.
which I understand because that is how I became fluent in spanish.
well I always refused to speak to him in english because I feared that he would not understand important things that I was talking about.
I finally gave in and two days ago started speaking only in english
and wow what a difference it has made!
now he looks at my face all wide eyed like a child learning something new
it is a very beautiful look in his eyes and I feel new love for him.
he has understood everything that I have said in english, I have realized that I have been underestimating him.
not only does he understand me he is trying so hard to respond in english also. I am soooo proud of him!
and him speaking in english with his spanish accent just sounds sooo sexy to me.
and on top of all of that I feel like Im special again
just because I have his undivided attention when we are speaking to each other.
my only problem is that most of the time I think in spanish and I have to remind myself to speak to him in english. maybe over time I will get over that
and also will be able to go buy gas in the gas station without having to worry if I spoke to the clerk in english or spanish. LOL
sorry that this was so long
I just wanted to sort of brag on dh.
thats awesome, and a really cute story =) I love how you love his english speaking with spanish accent .. hehe.

That's really cool!!!! Did you learn spanish before you met him?
before I had met him I was living in a neighborhood where the majorityOriginally Posted by Mom2D
of the people that lived there were hispanic so I had learned enough spanish
to express what I liked and didnt like.
I had this one specific friend she was from honduras she and I would sit with childrens picture books and point out objects and tell each other what the names were. we would do this on a daily basis.
I was so eager to learn spanish that I would carry a spanish and english dictionary with me all the time and anytime I had contact with a hispanic person I always tried to make conversation.
that usually happened in the laundrymat LOL
but it wasent until i was with dh that I was actually able to put words together.
That's such a sweet story!
